Save $200 on a Service = Spend $25,000 on Repair

Save $200 and Spend $25,000
This truck was driving to a site to deliver a load of quick-set concrete when a part broke and the barrel stopped turning.
Unfortunately, by the time they were able to get emergency assistance the concrete was set and the barrel was destroyed. It turned out that a universal joint, costing a couple of hundred dollars had broken – something that should have been spotted at the previous service.
That ‘economy’ cost the owner of the truck around $25,000
- Purchase and installation of new barrel
- Removal of the old barrel
- Service and repairs on truck
- Approximately 2 weeks lost work (with the truck off the road)
Next Time You Are Tempted to Skip a ‘Routine’ Service…
Think about this incident.
An A-Service takes about 1 hour… You receive a report of any imminent problems and can decide whether to deal with them immediately or not. Repairs often take just an hour or so to complete.
Even if you decide to do nothing, you and your drivers have valuable information that will keep you alert and guide your decisions.
